Five rewarding walks in and around Lee
The National Trust owns and manages five miles of coastline between Ilfracombe and Croyde. As Europe's most active conservation of charity, the Trust has acquired unspoilt coastal land since its foundation and particularly since 1966 under enterprise Neptune, the Trust's appeal to save the unspoilt coast of the UK. Miss Chichester of Arlington Court gave much of the area around Woolacombe, including Morte Point. Most of the coastal sections of these walks, cover land cared for by the Trust, managed to preserve natural beauty, flora and fauna and archaeological remains. The trust welcomes you to enjoy this beautiful and peaceful coast.
Publication of the following five walks has been has been made available, by the kind permission of the their originator Ruth Larrea, in conjunction with the North Devon Heritage Coast Services. It has been decided to publish these interesting, rewarding and semi interactive walks in full, and to include the colour illustrations, and pen and ink drawings. Ruth spent considerable time and research for their presentation as well as adding her own inimitable artistic style. To present these walks in any abridged form would fail to do them the justice they rightfully deserve.
These walks are also available, for a small charge, in printed form, from the Grampus Inn.
